This choral work, based on the text of Romans 15:7, 5&6, was suggested to me by Philip Nicholls including the order of verses.

The thing that struck me about these verses when writing this piece is that the simple act of welcoming someone, (like Jesus’ mention of giving someone a glass of water) glorifies God and thus is an act of worship. That welcome should follow then the example of Christ who welcomed us fully and unconditionally and so is the basis of our unity, i.e. all are equally welcome.
